Understanding CTLN Services
The Careertech Learning Network exists to support economic development in Oklahoma. The CTLN provides a wide variety of services that enable schools and businesses to design, develop, and deliver engaging online learning experiences. CTLN services are arranged into three different tiers. Each tier of service is different in scope and mission.CTLN
The CareerTech Learning Network is coordinated by the CareerTech Learning Network Solutions Group, a dedicated group of individuals responsible for creating the CTLN from the ground up. We started with a vision in 2000, and have since developed the CTLN to what it is today. The E-Learning Technical Advisory Board provides guidance and support for the CTLN Learning Solutions Group.
ODCTE
The Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education provides leadership, resources, and assures standards of excellence for a comprehensive statewide system of career and technology education. The system offers programs and services in technology centers, comprehensive school districts, skills centers, and juvenile facilities.
The Oklahoma Career and Technology Education System is constantly seeking better ways to facilitate economic development in our state. Because we know that technology offers us a whole new world of possibilities and options for educating our workforce, we created the CareerTech Learning Network. The CTLN takes into account the national instructional delivery trends of training entities, and builds on the existing strengths of career and technology training in Oklahoma.
CTLN is a collaboration of Oklahoma's technology centers, comprehensive schools, skills centers, the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education, and participating partners from business and industry. Through the CTLN, these entities create, develop, support, and jointly deliver state-of-the-art learning solutions. Visit the ODCTE web site and find out more!
Start Up
Initial funding for the CareerTech Learning Network came from a federal appropriation authored by Congressman Wes Watkins. This appropriation provided the financial resources to establish the CTLN and the Rural Education Virtual Tech (REVTECH) Job Training System. REVTECH is providing rural Oklahoma communities and business/industry with access to the latest distributed education technologies.
