Click here to launch the RealOne download site in a new window. Click on the "Free RealOne Player" link in the upper right of the page. |

Real tries to trick you into downloading the pay a fee version. Look for the "Download the Free RealOne Player" link in the bottom right of this page. |

You should be presented with a security warning window. Its ok to choose yes in the window. |

The installer will begin to download to your computer. |

Once the download has completed, the installer will launch. Choose "Custom" install because Real has a tendency to be very aggressive on your computer. |

Agree or disagree with Real Networks terms and conditions. Disagreeing will prevent installation to continue. |

The default location for the installation is fine. You may want to deselect some of the shortcuts that it wants to put on your desktop like "Free AOL" icons and the like. Click next to continue. |

The installer will begin copying files into their appropriate places. |

Next you are presented with a window that allows you to associate certain file types to RealOne player. To prevent Real from being the default player for these types, uncheck each file type. Click "Finish". |

The welcome screen to the play appears. Read if you want. Click next to continue. |

Real Networks insists you register before you can use RealOne. You probably don't already have a RealOne login so click the link provided to create your registration. |

Real Networks requires registration but you do not have to input valid information. Input some unique email address, a password, and a zip code and the click the "Create" button. |

Choose "Basic Setup" and click "Continue". RealOne will launch and begin an introduction movie. |

To disable advertisments and similar clips from playing automatically when you start RealOne, go to the "Tools" Menu and select "Preferences". When the Preferences window appears, select "Player only (no Media Browser)" from the "On startup display" drop down box. |

To prevent getting messages from Real which are generally advertisments, select "Automatic Services" from the menu on the left and then uncheck "Periodically check for new messages" on the right. Then click "OK" and you should be good to go. |
